حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنِي شَدَّادُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الرَّاسِبِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ يَقُولُ
قَتَلْتُ عَبْدَ الْعُزَّى بْنَ خَطَلٍ وَهُوَ مُتَعَلِّقٌ بِسِتْرِ الْكَعْبَةِ 19795 وَقُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مُرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أَعْمَلُهُ، فَقَالَ: أَمِطِ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ، فَهُوَ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ

✧ I killed 'Abd al-'Uzza b. Khatal while he was clinging to the curtain of the Ka'bah. 19795 And I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: O Messenger of Allah, command me to a deed I should do. He said: Remove harm from the road, for it is charity for you.
