حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ

إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَنَامُ، وَلَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ، يَخْفِضُ الْقِسْطَ وَيَرْفَعُهُ، حِجَابُهُ النَّارُ لَوْ كَشَفَهَا لَأَحْرَقَتْ سُبُحَاتُ وَجْهِهِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَدْرَكَهُ بَصَرُهُ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ نُودِيَ أَنْ بُورِكَ مَنْ فِي النَّارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

Translation

✧ Allah, Mighty and Majestic, does not sleep, and it is not befitting for Him to sleep. He lowers the scale and raises it. His veil is fire; if He were to remove it, the glories of His face would burn everything His sight reaches. Then Abu Ubaydah recited: 'It was proclaimed: Blessed is whoever is in the Fire and whoever is around it, and glory be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.'
