✧ We besieged with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the fort of al-Ta'if, or the palace of al-Ta'if. He said: 'Whoever sends an arrow in the cause of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, so that it reaches [the enemy], he will have a degree in Paradise.' That day I sent sixteen arrows. 'And whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, it is for him the equivalent of a freed slave. And whoever is struck by grey hair in the cause of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, it will be light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And any man who frees a Muslim man, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will make each bone of his bones a protection for a bone of the bones of his freed slave from the Fire. And any Muslim woman who frees a Muslim woman, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will make each bone of her bones a protection for a bone of the bones of her freed slave from the Fire.'
