✧ We were with ʿAbd Allāh b. Abī Awfā fighting the Khawārij. A slave boy of Ibn Abī Awfā had joined the Khawārij, so we called out: O Fayrūz, this is Ibn Abī Awfā. He said: What a good man, if only he had emigrated. He said: What does the enemy of Allah say? He said: He says: What a good man, if only he had emigrated. He said: An emigration after my emigration with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?! He repeated it three times. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Ṭūbā for the one who kills them and then they kill him.
