حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ أَبِي رَمْلَةَ الشَّامِيِّ قَالَ
شَهِدْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ سَأَلَ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عِيدَيْنِ اجْتَمَعَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ صَلَّى الْعِيدَ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ فَقَالَ مَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يُجَمِّعَ فَلْيُجَمِّعْ
Translation

✧ He said: I witnessed Muʿāwiyah ask Zayd b. Arqam, “Did you witness with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ two ʿīds that coincided?” He said: Yes. He prayed the ʿīd prayer at the beginning of the day, then he granted a concession regarding the Friday prayer, saying: Whoever wishes to attend the Friday prayer, let him attend it.
