حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّامِيِّ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَخْطُبُ يَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الشَّامِ حَدَّثَنِي الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ يَعْنِي زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ وَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوهُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الشَّامِ

✧ I heard Muawiya delivering a sermon saying, "O people of Sham, An Ansari informed me that Shu'bah, meaning Zaid ibn Arqam, said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A group of my Ummah will remain steadfast upon the truth, manifestly, and I hope that you are among them, O people of Sham.'"
