حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِالشَّرْطِ، قَالَ: أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا، وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَنْصَحَ الْمُسْلِمَ، وَتَبْرَأَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِ

✧ I said: 'O Messenger of God, stipulate conditions for me, for you know best the conditions.' He said: 'I give you allegiance on [the condition] that you worship God, associating nothing with Him, that you establish prayer, give zakat, give sincere counsel to the Muslim, and disassociate from the polytheist.'
