حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ: أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَبَضَ يَدَهُ، وَقَالَ: النُّصْحُ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّهُ مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَمْ يَرْحَمْهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

✧ I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: I pledge allegiance to you upon Islam. He withdrew his hand and said: Sincere counsel to every Muslim. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ said: Whoever does not show mercy to people, God, Mighty and Majestic, will not show mercy to him.
