حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً عَنْ بُسْرٍ أَوْ بِشرِ بْنِ مِحْجَنٍ ثُمَّ كَانَ يَقُولُ بَعْدُ عَنْ ابْنِ مِحْجَنٍ الدِّيلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى، فَقَالَ لِي: أَلَا صَلَّيْتَ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فِي الرَّحْلِ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُكَ، قَالَ: فَإِذَا فَعَلْتَ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ وَاجْعَلْهَا نَافِلَةً،

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the mosque. The prayer time arrived and he prayed. He said to me: Did you not pray? I said: O Messenger of Allah, I had prayed in the camp and then came to you. He said: If you do that, then pray with them and make it a supererogatory prayer.
