✧ From al-Miswar that Hasan b. Hasan sent to him to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage. He said to him: "Tell him: Let him meet me at nightfall." He said: "So he met him. Al-Miswar praised Allah and extolled Him, and said: 'To proceed: By Allah, there is no lineage, bond, or in-law tie dearer to me than your bond and your in-law tie. But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Fatimah is a piece of me; what distresses her distresses me, and what gladdens her gladdens me. And lineage ties will be severed on the Day of Resurrection except my lineage, bond, and in-law tie." And you have her daughter with you. If I were to give her to you in marriage, that would distress her.'" He said: "So he left, excusing him."
