✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ when he said the takbir, raise his hands level with his ears, then when he bowed, then when he said, “Allah hears the one who praises Him,” he raised his hands. And I saw him holding his right hand over his left in the prayer. When he sat, he made a circle with his middle finger and thumb, pointed with his index finger, placed his right hand on his right thigh, and placed his left hand on his left thigh.

machine translationThere is no inconsistency (iḍṭirāb) in it; rather it is the preponderant report, in reply to the Ḥanafīs.

machine translationThe hadith of Sufyān is more authentic than the hadith of Shuʿbah. Shuʿbah made mistakes in several places. He said "Ḥujr Abū al-ʿAnbas", but it is only Ḥujr b. al-ʿAnbas, whose kunyah is Abū al-Sakan. He added ʿAlqamah, but it is only Ḥujr from Abū Wāʾil. And he said "he lowered his voice with it", but it is only "he extended his voice with it".
