حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبُو يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ نُبَيْطٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ عَلَى جَمَلٍ أَحْمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ سَلَمَةُ أَوْصَانِي أَبِي بِصَلَاةِ السَّحَرِ. قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَةْ، إِنِّي لَا أُطِيقُهَا، قَالَ: فَانْظُرِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ فَلَا تَدَعَنَّهُمَا، وَلَا تَشْخَصَنَّ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ
Translation

✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ delivering a sermon on the evening of 'Arafah upon a red camel. He said: Salamah said: "My father enjoined me to pray the night prayer." I said: "O father, I cannot bear it." He said: "Then mind the two rak'ahs before dawn and never abandon them, and do not set yourself up in times of turmoil."
