حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَلَمَةِ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي حُجَيْفَةَعَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ
ذَبَحَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَبْدِلْهَا فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لَيْسَ عِنْدِي إِلَّا جَذَعَةٌ، وَأَظُنُّهُ قَدْ قَالَ: خَيْرٌ مِنْ مُسِنَّةٍ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: اجْعَلْهَا مَكَانَهَا، وَلَنْ تَجْزِيَ – أَوْ تُوفِيَ - عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ
Translation

✧ Abu Burdah slaughtered before the prayer, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Replace it.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have nothing but a jadha'ah, and I think he said: it is better than a musinnah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Put it in its place, and it will never suffice — or fulfill — for anyone after you.'
