✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey and we came upon a well with a rope. It was inhabited by six people, I was the seventh or eighth among them. He asked for a container and it was brought to us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at the edge of the well. I poured half or nearly two-thirds of it in. Then the container was raised to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Al-Bara’ said, "I was about to dip my container into it to see if I could find something for myself to drink when the Holy Prophet ﷺ dipped his hand into it and said, 'By Allah! It has become sweet!' Then the container was returned to us with water, and the last among us was able to come out with his clothing soaked, fearing he might have drowned. Then he spat and said, 'I was scared of drowning.'"
