حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً رَكِبَتِ الْبَحْرَ، فَنَذَرَتْ إِنِ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنْجَاهَا أَنْ تَصُومَ شَهْرًا، فَأَنْجَاهَا اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، فَلَمْ تَصُمْ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ، فَجَاءَتْ قَرَابَةٌ لَهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: صُومِي

Translation

✧ A woman voyaged on the sea, and she vowed that if Allah, Blessed and Exalted, saved her, she would fast a month. Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, saved her, but she did not fast until she died. Then a relative of hers came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him, and he said: Fast.
