✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ gave us a sermon and said: The first thing we begin with on this day of ours is to pray, then return and slaughter. Whoever does that has hit upon our sunna, and whoever slaughters before that, it is only meat he has offered his family, not part of the sacrifice in any way. He said: My maternal uncle Abu Burda b. Niyar slaughtered. He said: O Messenger of God, I have slaughtered, and I have a jadha'a that is better than a musinna. He said: Put it in its place, [and it will not suffice] – or be fulfilled – for anyone after you.
