حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ؛ أَخْبَرَنَا أَجْلَحُ؛ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ؛ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: مَا شَاءَ اللهُ، وَشِئْتَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَجَعَلْتَنِي وَاللهَ عِدْلًا، بَلْ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ

Translation

  3. Yazīd b. al-Aṣam
  4. Ibn ʿAbbās

that a man said to the Prophet ﷺ, “What Allah wills and you will!” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Do you make me and Allah equals? Rather, what Allah wills alone.”
