✧ ‘Ammār led us in a prayer and shortened it, and they objected to that. He said, “Did I not complete the bowing and prostration?” They said, “Yes.” He said, “Indeed, I made in them a supplication that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to make: O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive as long as You know life is better for me, and take me when death is better for me. I ask You for fear of You in secret and in public, the word of truth in anger and in contentment, moderation in poverty and wealth, the delight of looking at Your face, and longing to meet You. I seek refuge in You from harmful harm and from a misleading trial. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guides who are rightly guided.”
