حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نُعْمٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍفَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَسِيتَ قَالَ بَلْ أَنْتَ نَسِيتَ بِهَذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي ﷻ
Translation

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. He relieved himself, then performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you forgot." He said, "Rather, you forgot. My Lord, may He be glorified, commanded me to do this."
