حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ كَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا وَادْعُوا اللهَ ﷻ

Translation

✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day Ibrahim died. The people said, "It eclipsed because of Ibrahim's death." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of anyone's death or life. When you see that, pray and supplicate to Allah, may He be glorified."
