Translation

✧ I ate garlic, then I came to the prayer place of the Prophet ﷺ and found that he had preceded me by one rak'a. When he prayed, I stood up to make up [the missed rak'a], and he smelled the odor of garlic. He said, “Whoever eats this herb must not come near our mosque until its smell goes away.” He said, “When I finished the prayer, I came to him and said, ‘O Messenger of God, I have an excuse; give me your hand.’” He said, “I found it, by God, smooth, and he gave me his hand. I put it into my sleeve up to my chest, and he found it bandaged. He said, ‘You have an excuse.’”
