حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ خَرَجَ يَوْمًا فَرَقِيَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ
مَا بَالُ هَذَا النَّوْحِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَكَانَ مَاتَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَنِيحَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ كَذِبًا عَلَيَّ لَيْسَ كَكَذِبٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ فَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ يُعَذَّبْ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ
Translation

✧ What is this wailing in Islam?" A man from the Ansar had died and was being wailed over. He said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: "Lying about me is not like lying about anyone else. Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire." I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: "Whoever is wailed over will be punished because of that wailing."
