حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَىعَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ جِئْتُهُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ قَالَ فَلَمْ يَقْدِرْ على أَنْ يُخْرِجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ كُمَّيْهَا فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ أَسْفَلِهَا ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ

Translation

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. He relieved himself, then I brought him a vessel of water. He was wearing a Syrian jubbah. He said: He could not get his hands out of its sleeves, so he took his hands out from its bottom, then performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks.
