✧ While I was sitting in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, leaning our backs toward the qiblah of the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a group of seven: four of our freedmen and three of our Arabs, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us for the noon prayer until he reached us. He said: 'What makes you sit here?' We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we are waiting for the prayer.' He said: He fell silent for a while, then raised his head and said: 'Do you know what your Lord, Mighty and Majestic, says?' We said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'Your Lord, Mighty and Majestic, says: Whoever performs the prayer at its time and guards it and does not neglect it out of contempt for its right, I have a covenant to admit him to Paradise. Whoever does not perform it at its time and does not guard it and neglects it out of contempt for its right, he has no covenant with Me. If I will, I punish him, and if I will, I forgive him.'
