✧ The Prophet ﷺ stopped at al-Hudaybiyah, and his head was teeming with lice. He said: 'Are your vermin troubling you?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then shave your head.' He said: 'Concerning me was revealed: And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of his head, then a ransom of fasting or charity or sacrifice. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me, saying: Fast three days, or give charity of a faraq among six, or offer a sacrifice as is easy.'

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn Ḥazm

machine translationThe sound report of Kaʿb b. ʿUjrah is what Ibn Abī Laylā narrated, while the narrations of the others are unsettled (muḍṭarib) and mistaken. It is therefore obligatory to abandon what is unsettled in it and to return to the narration of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, which is not unsettled.
