✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ at al-Ḥudaybiyah, and we were in a state of iḥrām, and the polytheists had besieged us. I had a thick head of hair, and vermin began falling onto my face. The Prophet ﷺ passed by me and said: ‘Do the vermin of your head bother you?’ I said: ‘Yes.’ So he ordered him to shave. He said: And this verse was revealed: ‘And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head, then a ransom of fasting or charity or sacrifice’ [2:196].
