  4. ʿAbd Rabbih b. Saʿīd
  5. ʿImrān b. Abū Anas
  6. ʿAbdullāh b. Nāfiʿ Ibn al-ʿAmyāʾ
  7. Rabīʿah b. al-Ḥārith

  9. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Prayer is two by two; you recite the tashahhud in every two rak'ahs, and you humble yourself, show reverence, and express neediness, then you raise your hands - he said: you lift them to your Lord - facing their palms toward your face, saying: 'O Lord, O Lord.' Whoever does not do that, he said a severe statement about him.

What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationA confused (muḍṭarib), weak (ḍaʿīf) chain; the like of it is not to be used as evidence.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 1806
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThere is a disagreement in its chain.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 1806
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationWhat al-Layth says is more authentic, because ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith and Ibn Lahīʿah corroborated al-Layth. ʿAmr and al-Layth used to write, whereas Shuʿbah was a man of memory. I said to my father: Is this chain sound (ṣaḥīḥ) in your view? He said: Good (ḥasan).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 1806
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThe hadith of al-Layth is more authentic, because Anas b. Abī Anas is not known, and ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith has no meaning here; it is only Rabīʿah b. al-Ḥārith.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 1806
