✧ Yazid b. Mu'awiya sent us against Ibn al-Zubayr. When I arrived in Madinah, I entered upon Fulān — Ziyad forgot his name — and he said: 'The people have done what they have done, so what do you think?' He said: 'My close friend Abu al-Qasim ﷺ advised me: "If you encounter any of these tribulations, take your sword to Uhud and break its edge against it, then sit in your house." He said: "If anyone enters the house upon you, go to the inner chamber. If he enters the inner chamber upon you, kneel on your knees and say: 'Take upon yourself my sin and your sin,' and you will be among the companions of the Fire, and that is the recompense of the wrongdoers."' So I have broken the edge of my sword and sat in my house.
