حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي أَنَسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ
لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ ذَاتِ السَّلَاسِلِ، قَالَ: احْتَلَمْتُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ شَدِيدَةِ الْبَرْدِ، فَأَشْفَقْتُ إِنِ اغْتَسَلْتُ أَنْ أَهْلِكَ، فَتَيَمَّمْتُ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ بِأَصْحَابِي صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: « يَا عَمْرُو صَلَّيْتَ بِأَصْحَابِكَ وَأَنْتَ جُنُبٌ ؟ » قَالَ: قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي احْتَلَمْتُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ شَدِيدَةِ الْبَرْدِ، فَأَشْفَقْتُ إِنِ اغْتَسَلْتُ أَنْ أَهْلِكَ، وَذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا فَتَيَمَّمْتُ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ، فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ شَيْئًا.

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ sent him in the year of Dhat al-Salasil, he said: I had a wet dream on a very cold night, and I feared that if I washed I would perish, so I performed tayammum and then led my companions in the dawn prayer. He said: When we came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, I mentioned that to him, and he said, "O 'Amr, you led your companions in prayer while you were junub?" He said: I said, "Yes, O Messenger of God. I had a wet dream on a very cold night, and I feared that if I washed I would perish, and I remembered the words of God, Mighty and Majestic: 'And do not kill yourselves; indeed God is ever Merciful to you' (Q 4:29), so I performed tayammum and then prayed." The Messenger of God ﷺ laughed and did not say anything.
