✧ When Ammar ibn Yasir was killed, Amr ibn Hazm came to Amr ibn al-As and said, "Ammar has been killed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'He will be killed by the rebellious group.'" Amr ibn al-As got up in fear, repeatedly saying it, until he went to Muawiya. Muawiya asked him, "What is the matter with you?" He replied, "Ammar has been killed." Muawiya said, "Ammar has been killed, so what?" Amr said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'He will be killed by the rebellious group.'" Muawiya then said to him, "You've been caught out in your words. Did we kill him? Rather, it was Ali and his companions who brought him until they put him between our spears or between our swords."
