Amr b. al-As from the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعَيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

إِذَا حَكَمَ الْحَاكِمُ فَاجْتَهَدَ، فَأَصَابَ فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ، وَإِذَا حَكَمَ فَاجْتَهَدَ فَأَخْطَأَ، فَلَهُ أَجْرٌ.

✧ When a judge rules and strives his utmost, and he is correct, he has two rewards; and when he rules and strives his utmost, and he errs, he has one reward.
