حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ
أُسِرَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ عَمْرٌو يَسْأَلُهُ يُعْجِبُهُ أَنْ يَدَّعِيَ أَمَانًا قَالَ: فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « يُجِيرُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَدْنَاهُمْ
Translation

✧ Muhammad b. Abi Bakr was taken captive. Amr began asking him, hoping that he would claim a guarantee of protection. Amr said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The lowliest of the Muslims may grant protection on behalf of the Muslims."
