✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for me and said: "Take your clothes and your weapon, then come to me." I came to him while he was performing ablution. He raised his gaze to me, then lowered it, and said: "I intend to send you in command of an army, and may Allah protect you and grant you spoils, and I desire for you a good portion of wealth." I said: O Messenger of Allah, I did not become Muslim for the sake of wealth; rather, I became Muslim out of desire for Islam and to be with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: "O Amr, how excellent is righteous wealth for a righteous man."
