✧ Ya'ala bin Mura Althaqafi on the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ عَنْ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ يَعْلَى قَالَ
مَا أَظُنُّ أَنَّ أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ رَأَى مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا دُونَ مَا رَأَيْتُ، فَذَكَرَ أَمْرَ الصَّبِيِّ، وَالنَّخْلَتَيْنِ، وَأَمْرَ الْبَعِيرِ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: « مَا لِبَعِيرِكَ يَشْكُوكَ »، زَعَمَ أَنَّكَ سَنَأْتَهُ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَبِرَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَنْحَرَهُ » قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ، وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ نَبِيًّا، قَدْ أَرَدْتُ ذَلِكَ، وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا أَفْعَلُ

✧ I do not think anyone among the people saw from the Messenger of God ﷺ except less than what I saw. Then he mentioned the matter of the boy, the two palm trees, and the matter of the camel, except that he said: "What is wrong with your camel that it complains about you? It claimed that you have been fattening it, and when it grows old you intend to slaughter it." He said: "You have spoken the truth, by the One who sent you with the truth as a prophet. I did intend that, but by the One who sent you with the truth, I will not do it."
