✧ There was an acquaintance between him and the Prophet ﷺ before he was sent as a prophet. When the Prophet ﷺ was sent, he sent him a gift—he said: I think it was camels—but he refused to accept it, saying: 'We do not accept the gift of the polytheists.' He said: I asked: 'What is the gift of the polytheists?' He said: 'Their support, their presents.'
