✧ We went out with 'Uqbah b. 'Amir on an expedition we undertook. When prayer time came, we asked him to lead us, but he refused and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: No servant leads a people in prayer but that he takes responsibility for what is upon them in their prayer. If he does well, it is for him; if he does poorly, it is against him.
