✧ I saw Abū Tamīm al-Jayshānī ʿAbd Allah b. Mālik performing two rakʿahs when he heard the call for Maghrib. He said: I came to ʿUqbah b. ʿĀmir al-Juhanī and said to him: Should I not amaze you at Abū Tamīm al-Jayshānī performing two rakʿahs before the Maghrib prayer, while I intend to fault him? ʿUqbah said: Indeed we used to do that in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said: What prevents you now? He said: Busyness.
