أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ
مَا تَعْقِلُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: صَعِدْتُ غُرْفَةً، فَأَخَذْتُ تَمْرَةً، فَلُكْتُهَا فِي فِيَّ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَلْقِهَا، فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ
Translation

✧ What do you remember of the Messenger of God ﷺ? He said: I went up to a room, took a date, and chewed it in my mouth. The Prophet ﷺ said: Spit it out, for sadaqah is not lawful for us.
