✧ We besieged the fortress of al-Ta'if with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever hits [the enemy] with an arrow, he will have a degree in Paradise.' He said: 'That day I hit sixteen arrows.' And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, it is equal to [freeing] a slave. Whoever grows a white hair in the cause of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection. Any Muslim man who frees a Muslim man, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will make every bone of his [the freed slave's] bones a ransom for a bone of his [the one who freed him] from the Fire. And any Muslim woman who frees a Muslim woman, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will make every bone of her [the freed slave woman's] bones a ransom for a bone of her [the one who freed her] from the Fire.'
