Translation

✧ I was among a group of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with Mu'awiyah. Mu'awiyah said, "I adjure you by Allah: do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing silk?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness." He said, "I adjure you by Allah: do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing gold except as small pieces?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness." He said, "I adjure you by Allah: do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade riding on leopard skins?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness." He said, "I adjure you by Allah: do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade drinking from silver vessels?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness." He said, "I adjure you by Allah: do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade combining Hajj and 'Umrah?" They said, "As for this, no." He said, "Indeed, it is with them."
