حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

الضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، وَجَائِزَتُهُ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ، وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يُقِيمَ عِنْدَ أَحَدٍ حَتَّى يُؤْثِمَهُ " قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَكَيْفَ يُؤْثِمُهُ ؟ قَالَ: " يُقِيمُ عِنْدَهُ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ شَيْءٌ يَقْرِيهِ

Translation

  5. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Hospitality is three days, and its reward is a day and a night. It is not lawful for a man to stay with someone until he makes him sin." They said: O Messenger of Allah, how does he make him sin? He said: "He stays with him while he has nothing to offer him as hospitality.
