حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ

دُفِعْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ: أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ،

Translation

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was reciting this surah: "The mutual rivalry for piling up diverts you."

فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ سَوَاءً وَلَيْسَفِيهِ قَوْلُ قَتَادَةَ يَعْنِي مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ هَمَّامٍ
