✧ Umar sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while there were slave girls with him whose voices had risen above his voice. He gave him permission, so they hurried and left. Umar entered while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was laughing. Umar said, 'May Allah make you smile, O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom.' He said, 'I was amazed at the slave girls who were with me. When they heard your sound, they hurried and left.' He turned to them and said, 'O enemies of your own selves! By Allah, you were more obliged to fear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than me.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Leave them alone, O Umar. For by Allah, if Satan ever meets you on a path, he will take a path other than yours.'
