Musnad Ahmad 1618

Translation

✧ By God, I was the first Arab to shoot an arrow in the path of God. We used to go on raids with the Messenger of God ﷺ, and we had no food to eat except the leaves of the hubla plant and this samur, until one of us would defecate like a sheep, without any mixed dung. Then the Banu Asad began to reprove me concerning the religion. I would have failed then and my work would have been lost.
