✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say to him, when he left him behind during one of his expeditions. Ali said: O Messenger of God, are you leaving me behind with the women and children? He said: O Ali, are you not pleased to be to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there is no prophethood after me? And I heard him say on the day of Khaybar: I will certainly give the banner to a man who loves God and His Messenger, and whom God and His Messenger love. We stretched our necks for it. He said: Call Ali for me. He was brought to him with sore eyes. He spat in his eye and handed the banner to him, and God granted him victory. And when this verse was revealed: "Let us call our sons and your sons," the Messenger of God ﷺ called Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn, and said: O God, these are my family.
