✧ The people in Ramadan, when a man fasted and then evening came and he slept, food, drink, and women became forbidden to him until he broke his fast the next day. 'Umar b. al-Khattab returned from the Prophet ﷺ one night, having stayed up with him, and found his wife asleep. He desired her, but she said, "I have slept." He said, "You have not slept," and then had intercourse with her. Ka'b b. Malik did the same. Then 'Umar went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him, and Allah the Exalted revealed: "Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He turned to you and forgave you."
