حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا زَبَّانُ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى قَوْمٍ وَهُمْ وُقُوفٌ عَلَى دَوَابَّ لَهُمْ وَرَوَاحِلَ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: ارْكَبُوهَا سَالِمَةً وَدَعُوهَا سَالِمَةً وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوهَا كَرَاسِيَّ لِأَحَادِيثِكُمْ فِي الطُّرُقِ وَالْأَسْوَاقِ، فَرُبَّ مَرْكُوبَةٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْ رَاكِبِهَا هِيَ أَكْثَرُ ذِكْرًا لِلهِ تَعَالَى مِنْهُ
Translation

✧ He passed by a people who were standing on their animals and mounts, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them: 'Ride them while they are sound, and let them remain sound. Do not make them into chairs for your conversations in the roads and markets. For perhaps a ridden animal is better than its rider; it remembers Allah, the Exalted, more than him.'
