حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ مِخْرَاقٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ وَأَنَا أَرْحَمُهَا، أَوْ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَرْحَمُ الشَّاةَ أَنْ أَذْبَحَهَا، فَقَالَ: وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ، وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ
Translation

✧ A man said: O Messenger of God, I slaughter a sheep while I feel mercy for it, or he said: I feel mercy for the sheep that I slaughter it. So he said: And the sheep, if you show it mercy, God will show you mercy; and the sheep, if you show it mercy, God will show you mercy.
