حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ
شَكَا أَهْلُ الْكُوفَةِ سَعْدًا إِلَى عُمَرَ، فَقَالُوا: لَا يُحْسِنُ يُصَلِّي، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: أَمَّا صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَدْ كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي بِهِمْ، أَرْكُدُ فِي الْأُولَيَيْنِ، وَأَحْذِفُ فِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: ذَاكَ الظَّنُّ بِكَ يَا أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ
Translation

✧ The people of Kufa complained about Sa'd to Umar. They said: 'He does not perform prayer well.' Umar mentioned that to him, so he said: 'As for the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I used to lead them in it: I prolong the first two rak'ahs and shorten the last two.' He said: 'That is what was thought of you, O Abu Ishaq.'
