✧ He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the Trench while he was accepting people's pledge for emigration. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, accept the pledge of this one." He said: "Who is this?" He said: "My cousin Hawt b. Yazid, or Yazid b. Hawt." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I will not accept your pledge. The people are emigrating to you, and you are not emigrating to them. By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad ﷺ, no man loves the Ansar until he meets Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, but he will meet Allah [Blessed and Exalted is He] while He loves him; and no man hates the Ansar until he meets Allah [Blessed and Exalted is He] but he will meet Allah [Blessed and Exalted is He] while He hates him."
